What is Microblading?

Microblading is a form of tattooing and the most talked-about technique in rebuilding overplucked brows. It is an invasive procedure where pigment (ink) is planted into your skin with clusters of ultra-fine needles to create incredible, realistic-looking brow ‘hairs’. The treatment is great for brows that have been over-plucked, very light hair, alopecia hair loss, and improving the shape and fullness of your brow.

A tailored treatment

Microblading (as with all other forms of SPMU), is a two-stage process, including a full consultation on your first appointment. You will come back once they have healed after 4-6 weeks for a touch-up application. Each microblading treatment is personalised to fit your unique needs and is tailored to your face shape, features and personality – right from consultation through to treatment and aftercare.

How does it work?

Step 1 – Consultation and natural eyebrow analysis
Step 2 – Numbing eyebrow area
Step 3 – Brow ‘mapping’ (measurements and outlining desired shape)
Step 4 – Colour selection
Step 5 – Microblading procedure
Step 6 – After care instructions
Step 7 – Healing time
Step 8 – Touch up session

Choosing the right shade

The pigment is chosen on the day to match the natural eyebrow colour; at first the colour is really dark during the first week and looks bigger and bolder, and after a week it starts to reduce and lose 50-60 percent of its intensity. If you think the colour is too dark do not try to remove it yourself, please be patient and wait 7 to 10 days for the colour to fade on its own. Up until you come back to your top-up you will lose 10 to 15 percent of the drawn strokes. These are re-done in the second session.

How long will it last?

Results can usually last between 9 months and 2 years. The colour duration primarily depends on how oily the skin is, the oiler the skin the shorter the colour lasts. Sweating and sun exposure also reduce colour intensity. On average, expected time until a new procedure and refreshment is required is between 12 and 16 months. With oily skin it is up to 6 and 8 months. Take a look at our Facebook page for examples of some of the results achieved by customers in Hemel Hempstead and beyond. Your safety and satisfaction

Every treatment carried out by Esther is performed with disposable and/or sterile tools, and the pigments used are produced to the highest standards. Please note that everyone is different, and everyone heals differently. With microblading you will always have a template of the shape you want and have been given, to be able to colour your brows once they start to fade.
